TYRE SIZE GUIDE

How to read your tyre size

1225 is the width: how wide the tyre is, in millimetres.
245 is the profile: the height of the sidewall as a percentage of the width. Here 45% of 225 mm is about 101 mm.
3R means radial, the way almost every car tyre is built.
418 is the wheel size: the diameter of the rim it fits, in inches.
591 is the load index, a code for the most weight each tyre can carry (91 means 615 kg).
6Y is the speed rating, a letter for the top speed the tyre is built for (Y is up to 186 mph).

Enter numbers 1, 2 and 4 in the boxes. Front and rear tyres can be different sizes, so check each one. The size may also be in your handbook or on the edge of the driver’s door.
